ONI has been our holy grail brand from the very beginning, and we've finally been able to build a relationship with the brand and owner Masao Oishi. The brand is as old school and secretive as it appears. They use traditional construction methods to create low-tension, irregular, slubby denim that has a cult following. Their selvedge tickles the ancient part of our brain that makes us love denim so much. ONI does one thing and they do it to perfection. We can't wait to explore their wonderful world of fabric and fits with you guys.
ONI is known more specifically for their heavyweight, indigo denim...and that's exactly why we wanted this lightweight black denim so bad. If they can make the heavy stuff, we have full confidence in the lighter-weight garments - something we love to see more of leading into the Summer. This denim has been rinsed and still has all that crunch you love from the brand. They've included a special pocket flasher that's more sleek and modern than the typical accompaniment. The first thing we noticed had to be the leather tag with the ONI motif in silver foil. They've given us a lot of extra little accessories we don't normally see from the brand, and we're here for it. The ONI tab is a slick little detail that really elevates the pair. You've got a black weft x black warp denim with extra details and all of ONI's signature construction to satisfy your raw denim hunger.

Fit Notes: Shop owner Tommy is wearing a size 34 in this Relaxed Tapered Fit. He generally goes with one size up in the Taper fits from what he's wearing in the straight fits. This seems to give him the room in the leg to not feel pressed. We would recommend sizing up at least once in this denim from what you normally wear. Tommy is 5'10," 163lbs, with a 32-33" waist.
